Own a one-of-a-kind, original print handmade by Banana for their debut installation

Each print is unique and taken from the installation piece, ‘The Dance of the Alien Fossils’, (September, 2022). The Surrealist/ Science Fiction inspired installation consisted of three rooms and was filled with various multi-sensory stimuli for guests to interact with.

The first room, inspired by natural motifs and sensations, welcomed the guest with vibrant, blossoming wallpaper prints spanning across the walls. These magnificent abstract impressions were handprinted by the artist, Banana, in a method they pioneered through vast experimentation with a range of art mediums during their MA Fine Art.

After exhibiting the show, Holdwin decided to cut the iconic wallpaper into smaller art prints as an effort to preserve the energy of the installation and allow individuals to own a part of it.

Every print represents a part of this unique journey. All prints are original and limited edition.

Who is banana..?

Banana Holdwin is a Queer multi-disciplinary artist based in South London. Holdwin studied Art History at Sussex University (2016-2019) and completed a MA in Fine Art (2023) at the University of East London graduating with a distinction. Through these studies, Holdwin was introduced and influenced by: Dada, Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism.

Banana’s interest in these styles and movements stemmed from an adoration of the otherworldly and the radical. Playful and expressive artworks denying the seriousness and rigidity of traditional Western teachings. Approaching the artwork with a childlike curiosity and drawing focus on motion and emotion: being present with the work and allowing for it to lead its own uncovering. An absolute flow of creative freedom and ongoing experimentation.
